Open Day at PANH Helicopters
On March 29, 2019 PANH Helicopters held an Open Day for our children. The time of school holidays was not chosen by chance, since during these days future pilots and engineers are free from school and can devote a whole day to familiarize with helicopters. The guests, accompanied by the PANH Helicopters employees, visited the Flight Base, where the children could see with own eyes how a real helicopter looks like, how it is operated and how a preflight preparation procedure is carried out.
Future pilots and engineers learned the most interesting facts about helicopters. There is always something interesting to see at the Flight Base, and during the Open Days even more so. PANH Helicopters’ fleet includes about 30 aircraft of various types and modifications, so it took a lot of time to get to know them. Several aircraft were available for visiting and visual surveying - the unique Mi-26 helicopters with a lifting capacity of up to 20 tons, the multi-purpose Mi-8MTV-1, Ka-32 “air crane”, as well as light helicopter Eurocopter EC-145.
At the end of the Open Day all the children were in for a surprise - a flight by helicopter Eurocopter EC135! In order to set off for a flight, the children had to go through the complete preflight preparation procedures - check-in, briefing, screening for sharp objects, and even “Vzletnaya” candy was offered to them with the wishes of a “Nice flight!”
When the Open Day was over the children promised that they would definitely return to the Flight Base in a few years, being ready to take the flight controls in their hands to say the fondest words “Chocks away!”
